You should see many animals and birds along the way, both native animals and farm animals. You will see more native animals at dawn and dusk, especially kangaroo and Wallaby. Most animals sleep through the day hidden from sight. Occasionally wombats are about in daylight, but it generally means they are getting old.
After wet weather tortoises crossing the road can be common. In hot weather lizards and snakes may be seen on the road. Just give them space to move away from you.
The most common farm animals will be sheep and cattle and its not unusual to see sheep, out of their paddocks, and on the side of the road foraging. There are also horses, goats and alpacas. Rabbits and Hares can usually be seen darting away.
There should be a myriad of birds so a pair of binoculars, and a bird watching app wont go unused.
