The cycle group are a social group of ‘Saturday’ cyclists who are particularly interested in safe cycling. For a few years they have looked at “Rail Trails’ as a future option for cycling events but there have been many barriers in bringing this to a reality.
As a result the group decided to concentrate their efforts on finding safe cycle routes by utilizing back roads and quiet bush tracks. The result was the Central West Cycle (CwC) track around the whole central west of NSW, a distance of almost 400km.
The ‘Saturday Morning’ cyclists have explored the whole route and mapped it for others to follow.
The reward will be the success of having other cyclists follow in their path and bringing life and interest to the many small settlements they cycle through.
