There are a few things to be mindful of, depending a bit on you.
Firstly there are things that can puncture your tyres: catshead Tribulus terrestris and T. micrococcus that are fearsome and can puncture tyres.
Then be mindful of the creepy crawlies such as spiders, snakes, and some ants. Don’t stand around on a ants nest and be careful where you pitch your tent! Spider and snakes are best left alone. Snakes are a protected species; don’t approach them.
Mossies and flies can be a problem in summer. Fly veils in warm weather can be very useful when taking a break.
Some birds can be aggressive in the spring. Magpies have a bad name for bombing cyclists, although they seem to leave walkers along. Occasionally Peewees (Magpie Larks) copy this habit of their larger cousins.
Kangaroos, wallabies and emus might come your way. Just be careful if you have scared them into full flight.
